PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Takata Experience is a professional training program designed to develop confident, skilled, and responsible PADI Instructors. Set in the Mexican Caribbean, the course combines high training standards, real‑world teaching preparation, and a strong commitment to marine conservation. The objective is not only to help candidates pass the PADI Instructor Examination but also to prepare them to work successfully as instructors anywhere in the world.
What Is the PADI IDC?
The PADI Instructor Development Course is the required program to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). During the IDC, candidates develop:
- Teaching techniques and presentation skills
- Classroom, confined water, and open water instruction
- Knowledge of PADI standards and risk management
- Professional-level dive theory and rescue skills
- Instructor-level leadership and professionalism
The course concludes with the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), conducted independently by PADI examiners.
Why Train with Takata Experience?
Takata Experience focuses on quality, mentorship, and practical preparation. The IDC is delivered in small groups, allowing for personalized coaching and detailed feedback throughout the course. Training goes beyond exam preparation, with an emphasis on teaching confidence, real dive center scenarios, and professional conduct. Marine protection and environmental responsibility are integrated into the program, reflecting the role of modern dive professionals as ocean ambassadors.
