Fun Dives

Whether you have 1 day or 2 weeks to spend in Mahahual, our diving center take you out to the beautiful reef to explore the underwater world with our experienced staff and boat crew.

The following options are available for Fun Dives:

When you chose to scuba dive with us , you chose to support our research and ecology initiatives. We schedule 2 dive trips each day, departing in the morning and the afternoon.

Rental Equipment

Dive equipment is available for rent.

Embark on an expedition with TAKATA to reefs rarely visited by other divers. Combine a one-of-a-kind diving experience with freshly caught lionfish ceviche and a private beach landing for the perfect day out.

The adventure begins at 8 am, as you are guided along the Caribbean coast with refreshments and snacks until you reach your first dive site. Once out of the water, the captain will take your group to a deserted beach to relax and enjoy some well-deserved lionfish ceviche. Then it’s back to the water for the second dive of the day before cruising back to the dive centre.

Excursion details:

8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Package includes:

• Professional guide (all instructor level)

• Lionfish ceviche lunch and drinks after the dives

Minimum 2 people.

If you are looking for an all-day adventure, we offer expedition dives to Banco Chinchorro. 

Please note that we require a minimum of 6 divers for these trips.

Banco Chinchorro Expedition ~ US$220

Banco Chinchorro Overnight Trip ~ ON REQUEST

• 4 dives – 2 days activity (min. 6 people)
• Includes rental equipment, food & drinks and overnight accommodation

If you have not been diving for a while and would like to spend some time reviewing your skills with an instructor, we recommend that you take a refresher session before jumping straight back into the water! This will help you to get the most out of your fun dives during your time with us and you will feel more confident being back in the water.

We will do a review of basic dive theory and safety procedures, based on the Open Water Diver course, followed by skills review in shallow water with one of our dive professionals. Time spent on skills will depend on your experience and comfort levels.

Following the skills review session, there is the option to head straight out to the reef to enjoy 1 or 2 nice easy dives!

Prices: (including all rental equipment)

• Refresher in shallow confined water, no dives US$80 per person
• Refresher and 1 tank dive US$120 per person
• Refresher  and 2 tank dive US$150 per person
