~ Pablo ~

Co-Founder, General Manager, PADI IDC Staff Instructor

A Chilean with a plan, Pablo turned his dream for an eco-conscious dive center into a reality with the vision of his co-founders. With over 7 years teaching experience in the Caribbean, Pablo´s energy and enthusiasm for diving and protecting our ocean environment is contagious and inspiring. In between running the TAKATA Divemaster Program or discovering new dive sites on one of TAKATA´s adventurous expeditions, Pablo spends his time giving back to the community of Mahahual and striving to bring awareness to the plight of our oceans.

At TAKATA we have built a Dive Center and Research Center to serve the dive community and the environment. Our mission is to create environmentally conscious divers and dive professionals while positively affecting the local community of Mahahual.

We strive to become a sustainable dive operation, with a minimal environmental impact. Our dive shop is powered by solar panels. We have used recycled materials to build our outdoor yoga platform, café/bar and chill-out areas. We have a recycling area which is used by our neighbors and an organic compost facility.

It is very important for us to be part of the economic, environmental and social development of the local community of Mahahual. We employ local boat crew and work with the community to improve the relationship with nature, being conscious of local customs and traditions.

Together with our Research Center, we are succeeding in fostering a more eco-friendly approach to everyday life, local business practices and the tourism industry in Mahahual.

~ Tomas ~

Co-Founder, Videographer, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer

As a keen diver and environmentalist, Tomas has always had a love for conservation and the ocean. His love for diving began at the age of 12 years old and since then he has dived all over the world. After taking a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and MSc in Wildlife Documentary production, Tomas now combines his skills as a dive instructor and accomplished videographer to teach people how to be more environmentally conscious divers and share the message of TAKATA.

~ Nicolas ~

Co-Founder, Marketing Manager, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The TAKATA Marketing Guru from Quebec, Nicolas is an avid diver and passionate advocate for the ocean. Following his travel experiences and love for diving, he joined his co-founders with a view to creating a place where people can experience the world of diving and conservation in one. “The first time you go below the blue line, everything you feel and see become totally irrelevant in front of what nature has to offer us. From Indonesia to the Philippines and South East Asia to Central America, my passion grew stronger, as well as my knowledge and awareness about environmental issues. The TAKATA project is an extension of our admiration for nature. We are raising our voices together to preserve and protect the ocean and its ecosystems.”
