PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they have completed the program that sets the standard for training dive professionals. The PADI Instructor Development Course is a gateway to living a most extraordinary life as a scuba diving instructor! 

At Takata Experience, we are excited to offer a unique IDC Program with an eco-focus, given by awarded PADI Courses Directors from The GoPro Family and our in-house marine biologists from our Research Center! Join us for the biggest diving adventure of your life! 

At Takata Experience, we will conduct the PADI IDC over 15 days plus 2 days for the Instructor Exam. 

Our team of instructors for the IDC are experienced divers with a range of experience and have created a program that will ensure both an enjoyable learning journey and success in your exams. 

We also offer a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) program for those who want to extend their knowledge and skills after the IDC. If you decide to do this, once you finish your 5 specialties, we offer an internship where you can assist on classes with our instructors and also join some of the many eco-programs run by our Research Center.  

 Course requirements: 

At Takata Experience, we will conduct the PADI IDC over 15 days plus 2 days for the Instructor Exam. 

  • PADI (or equivalent) Divemaster who has been a certified for at least six months. 
  • At least 60 logged dives and 100 dives to attend an IE
  • Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
  • A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months

About the course: 

The PADI Instructor Development Course is diverse and interesting, with a mix of classroom knowledge development sessions, practical assessments and workshops to help you develop the skills to run all PADI core courses as a new instructor. 

Following your training, you’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Your presentation skills will improve, and you will master your demonstration skills for students while learning to always watch out for student diver safety. Key topics include: 

  • PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops
  • Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
  • Risk Management and Diver Safety
  • The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
  • Marketing Diving and Sales Counseling
