Research at TAKATA is organized around three main axis:
- Ecosystem conservation
- Environmental management
- Environmental education
Activities at the center are conducted by a multidisciplinary team covering a variety of disciplines: marine ecology, environmental management, education and sciences, anthropology, wildlife conservation and documentary production. Our staff and interns come from colleges and universities in a variety of countries like Mexico, Canada, France and Chile. For this reason, the center’s activities take place in three main languages: Spanish, French and English. We also maintain active research collaborations with local and international universities and organizations. Our aim is to create an space where young scientists from all over the world can exchange and learn from each other and from Mahahual’s coastal environment while helping the local community face the challenges of collective environmental management.
