Research at Takata is organized around three main axes:
- Ecosystem conservation
- Environmental management
- Environmental education
Activities at the center are conducted by a multidisciplinary team covering a variety of areas: Marine Ecology, Environmental Management, Education and Sciences, Anthropology, Wildlife Conservation and Documentary Production. Our staff and interns come from colleges and universities all over the world such as Mexico, Canada, France and Chile. Because of our international influence, the center’s activities are conducted in Spanish, French and English.
We also maintain active research collaborations with local and international universities and organizations. Our aim is to create a space where young scientists from all over the world can exchange ideas and learn from each other and from Mahahual’s coastal environment, while also helping the local community face the challenges of collective environmental management.
